A resolution was adopted to protect information in information and telecommunications systems
On February 8, 2021, the Government adopted amendments to the Rules for Information Protection in Information, Telecommunication and Information-Telecommunication Systems, developed by a working group consisting of specialists from the State Special Communications Service, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine and industry experts.
Adoption of this resolution will allow to make full use of modern network technologies and to provide high-quality introduction of electronic services of interaction between public authorities.
In addition, this decision ensures the harmonization of acts of the Government in accordance with the requirements of current legislation in the field of information protection, such as:
– with the Laws of Ukraine “On protection of information in information and telecommunication systems” and “On licensing of economic activities”;
-requirements for connection of systems in which official information and information constituting a state secret are processed to global transmission networks;
-cryptographic protection of confidential information in public authorities, military formations, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations belonging to the scope of their management.
The State Special Communications Administration will also develop requirements for means of cryptographic protection of information in state bodies within three months.
